Medical Conferences

The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation (CCF) is committed to advancing knowledge in the medical and health care community and stimulating innovative and collaborative research on pediatric cardiomyopathy. This is achieved through hosted conferences, sponsorships and meeting outreach.

Hosted Conferences

The Foundation organizes an international scientific conference every 3 years to bring together a multidisciplinary group of scientists and physicians to review current research on pediatric cardiomyopathy and identify research opportunities. The conference aims to identify gaps in knowledge, determine research direction, and evaluate new approaches and technologies that may improve intervention and prevention.

Since 2007, CCF has hosted the International Scientific Conference on Cardiomyopathy in Children in Bethesda, MD. Conference proceedings have been published in the international peer-reviewed journal, Progress in Pediatric Cardiology.

The 5th International Conference on Cardiomyopathy in Children will be held April 30 - May 1, 2020 at the American College of Cardiology Conference Center in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit the scientific conference page.

Conference Sponsorships

CCF regularly sponsors medical symposiums and family conferences on pediatric cardiomyopathy and pediatric heart failure.

CCF also works with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to advocate for working groups such as “Cardiomyopathies in Children with Rare Diseases“.

Meeting Outreach

Through its education and outreach initiatives, CCF’s research programs and family support services are promoted to cardiologists, geneticists, researchers, nurses and allied health professionals including social workers, genetic counselors and child life specialists.

At major international conferences, such as the American Heart Association Scientific Session, American College of Cardiology Scientific Session and the American Academy of Pediatrics Conference, CCF-funded research findings are presented by CCF’s medical advisors, research grant recipients and Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Registry investigators. The Foundation also distributes materials to medical meetings in the area of pediatrics, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, heart transplantation, and sudden cardiac arrest.
