Disability Benefits Help
Provides information to individuals who are seeking to apply for disability benefits or have been denied after applying. Offers information about the application process and helps families locate an attorney or advocate who can provide assistance.

Erika Kate Foundation
Provides financial assistance to parents or guardians of children who are in the midst of a serious medical crisis related to a heart condition.

Family Voices
An organization aimed at achieving family-centered care for all children with special healthcare needs. Maintains information on state resources such as waiver programs and Medicaid.

First Hand Foundation
A philanthropic organization that helps families of children with health problems address the financial aspects of their child's healthcare.

Friends of Karen
Offers financial assistance to patients up to 21 years of age diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. Serves families in the NY/NJ/CT areas.

Harboring Hearts
Offers financial assistance to patients awaiting or undergoing a heart transplant or critical cardio-thoracic surgical care. Works with NYC area hospitals and helps both pediatric and adult patients and their families.

National Foundation for Transplants
Offers fundraising assistance for transplant candidates and recipients worldwide.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities: State Resource List
Helps locate state organizations and agencies that address special needs issues such as early intervention, special educational programs and parent groups.

National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) Patient Assistance Programs
Provide medication, financial assistance with insurance premiums and co-pays, diagnostic testing assistance, and travel assistance for clinical trials or consultation with disease specialists.

National Transplant Assistance Fund
Offers direct financial assistance, fundraising guidance and support to families in need of a transplant.

Needy Meds
Maintains a website of information on programs for individuals who need financial assistance with healthcare treatments and medications.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance
Helps qualifying patients without prescription drug coverage get the medicines they need for free or nearly free.

Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
Federal program that provides state funding for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.

United Healthcare Children's Foundation
This non-profit offers financial support for child healthcare treatment, services or equipment not covered or not fully covered by their existing health insurance benefit plans.
